Detailed Sourcing Guide & Technical Specifications

Children's graphic apparel requires screen printing techniques that balance visual vibrancy with safety and flexibility. Fresh-Craft coordinates placement screen print programs with specialized, Oeko-Tex certified print mills in Tirupur, India, and Dhaka, Bangladesh. We use water-based inks and eco-friendly discharge print chemistry as our primary print mediums. Unlike heavy plastisol inks that create a thick, rubbery surface deposit, water-based inks penetrate the yarn fibers, leaving a soft hand-feel that prevents skin chafing and allows the cotton fabric to remain breathable.

For designs that require vibrant prints on dark fabrics, we implement discharge printing. This chemical process removes the original dye from the print area and replaces it with the graphic color in a single step, resulting in a print with zero surface stiffness. All print chemistries used are certified under OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Class I, ensuring they are completely free from restricted lead, formaldehyde, phthalates, and banned azo colorants, complying with US CPSIA and European REACH regulations.

To ensure long-term durability, prints must withstand heavy washing and play wear. Every print lot is tested for wash-fastness and crocking (color transfer). We maintain strict control over the drying and curing tunnels, monitoring temperatures (typically 160°C for 2.5 minutes) to ensure complete curing. Under-cured prints can peel or wash out, while over-cured prints degrade the cotton fibers. We verify color consistency under standardized lightbox D65 lighting to eliminate panel shade variance.
